Can I remove my bid from an item? Can I retract my donated item?

Generally, no but please contact us to discuss your unique situation.

How does an auction work?

Items are donated by the generous people from our community and buyers (you) bid on the items. The buyer with the highest bid will win the item. Money will be collected at the end of the auction. Arrangements for pick-up/delivery of the item will also be made at the time of payment.

What happens to my unsold item(s)?

Any unsold items will be returned to their respective owners.

Who are the sellers for this auction? Where are the proceeds for this event going?

The auction is a fundraiser and is presented by the Maine Association for Public Interest Law (MAPIL). MAPIL is affiliated with the University of Maine School of Law. Proceeds will help support fellowships for students to work in the area of public interest law, help low-income families, veterans, immigrants, and others in need of legal aid.

Can I pay for my auction items by credit card?

Yes, we will be able to accept credit card payments for your winning bid.

If I choose to have my item shipped, who covers the expenses for shipping costs?

Not all auction items can be shipped. Please read the description of the item before bidding. If the item indicates that it can be shipped, the winner of the item covers all shipping charges.
